The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) was initiated by a group of experts from China and Europe with an academic, a business, or a governmental background. The Institute is a subsidiary of Victoria University. The objectives of IBF are :

  • to educate in finance, banking, and insurance;
  • to confer qualifications in related subject;
  • to do international finance research.

IBF has easy access to the financial world in Switzerland. This country is a leader in global banking and has always played an important role in finance and insurance.

The Institute also closely cooperates with the Association of International Accountants (AIA) in the United Kingdom. The AIA has recognized IBF as a partner who can provide financial education. After AACSB and ECBE membership has been obtained, IBF will seek recognition from other academic institutions.

After full membership of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce has been obtained, IBF will have access to fellow members like UBS, Zürcher Kantonalbank and many other renowned Swiss financial institutions. As a result, IBF will be recognized by the financial industry.

IBF is closely cooperating with the Shanghai International Banking and Finance Institute (SIBFI). SIBFI is an independent Sino-foreign international banking institute accredited and licensed by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission since April 2004. SIBFI was founded by the FrankfurtSchool of Finance & Management in Germany, a leading European business school in finance and management.
